Your Past Lives
by Jennifer Baltz
Ever experience "deja vu"?
Where you just know you've been somewhere before? Met someone before?
What did they do to my rug?
One
of the strongest experiences of "deja vu" I ever had was
in the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. A group of us were touring
an exhibit of Turkish carpets ... ancient rugs made of silk or wool.
Some of them were several thousand years old, and still beautiful.
Then I walked past a 2000+ year old
rug fragment, carefully sealed under glass on the wall. It clearly
had seen better days.
An odd thought passed through my
head: "What did they do to my rug?" I felt a strong sense
of connection with it. At the same time, my rational side was thinking
"Gee, that's odd." I backed up for a closer look and saw
a mental picture of myself walking across this rug thousands of
years ago when it was much newer...a grand carpet, in a large room
that felt like home. Past life memories can come through this way--with
an emotional connection or reaction that is hard to explain in present
time reality.
Noticing Your Deja Vu Experiences
As a spirit, you treasure all of
your past lives and the wisdom you have gained from each one of
them. Some may have been wonderful, others not so great...but all
have become part of your Akashic Records, your spiritual body of
knowledge.
You don't need hypnotherapy to access
your past lives. The veil between this lifetime and others is actually
pretty thin these days. It's just a matter of noticing those "deja
vu" experiences and asking what you can learn from them. You
don't really need to remember all of the details--but it's nice
to look at what you can learn from that lifetime, and how you can
work with that to grow and learn in this one. Forgiveness always
plays a big role, too....the more you can forgive yourself and others
for past life experiences, the more you can move forward and grow
as a spirit THIS lifetime!
